I don't recall not being able to use one. But the way I looked at it a microwave would take forever to clean. Then if you got a mini fridge you would be cleaning them all the tine too. Inspections would be harder to pass. I wouldn't want to be locked on base. Make sure your toilets and shower are spot on. Also your sinks.
