It's a reaction to extreme stress. Almost like how soldiers joke about killing in war. Your mind has to find a way to make what makes no sense make sense.
She did fine. Everyone that stated this is normal response is exactly correct. This actually is something she learned at a young age. Could be a family style of dealing with anything that comes up that’s uncomfortable. Where she is standing shows that she has muscle memory from this procedure being covered a lot. But the real question should be the way the kid is responding to a serious situation. Kids that have a normal surrounding growing up would not have this type of response. He is way to comfortable making a statement that in itself even in today’s times where they have no sense of structure really is odd. Generally speaking this kid wants attention in a situation where his brain still should have a sense of fear and a ou don’t hear that in his voice. If anything he doesn’t even fear making such a strong statement he has anger that’s not even close to being normal in a situation where each of them could be killed. But he actually fits the profile of the kid doing the shooting.
Many people (thankfully) have never experienced something this traumatic.. You don’t find out you have this NERVOUS DISORDER until you experience extreme trauma..
If this is during a school shooting is definitely no place for somebody to be laughing. She could be drawing attention to the gunman ! Yeah, she is putting her life on the line hold the door, but also that’s the role you take when you take a teaching job this day and time sad but true you take responsibility for each child in that classroom every day . That’s part of the job. Not nice not easy but true. You take on that responsibility. Is part of your job.
It was my school, the teacher was scared and had a mix of emotions, didn’t know what to do. She wasn’t laughing at the fact that the shooting was happening, it was the fact of she didn’t know how to react

this is like my sister. when she's in a super stressful situation she laughs, and she can't help it. but believe it or not, except for the laughing, she is amazing in stressful situations. I will admit though that the laughing is off putting.
