I was with my ex-boyfriend in his convertible corvette going out for a nice dinner one warm summer evening with the top down and I was wearing a pretty top with an above-the-knee skirt. We were stopped at a traffic light, talking to eachother, when suddenly something dark & large dropped out of the night sky, directly onto the inside of one of my thighs and started crawling upward‼️😱 I could NOT see what it was & I was trying to jump up & out of the car, but I had my seat belt on & I wasn't getting very far! 😆 I just kept squirming & my boyfriend reached over & unlatched my seat belt & I jumped out onto the street, shaking & swatting myself. I looked like a crazy lady! Turns out, it was one of those huge Palmetto bugs. When we saw it we both started laughing hysterically! They are harmless & don't bother me normally, but I had no idea what was in my lap & I had a minor freak out.
When my MIL put her slippers on there was a potato bug in it! She said she had never seen a slipper fly so far! 🤣🤣
You have to be careful, seriously because in the South we have brown recluse spiders that love the inside of shoes! We don’t leave our shoes outside or in the garage for that reason!!! Because they are the most venomous of all spiders and they break down your muscles tissue and ruin your day!!!
Ever since I watched the movie Arachnophobia when I was a kid, I check my shoes before putting them on....I'm 38 and still do this.

I was in Morocco walking down the street when the biggest bug Ive ever seen flew into me and latched onto my shirt. I started swatting and screaming and running. Looking down at it, it looked like an alien, it had huge long legs and big eyes. Like a giant katy did. Its prickly legs were tangled in my knit type tank top. No matter how I swatted, I couldnt get it off me. I couldn't pull the shirt over my head, I was afraid it would stick in my hair. I was making a complete fool of myself, running in circles screaming when an older Moroccan woman approached me calmly, grabbed the bug with her bare hands and threw it to the ground. I said, Shukran bezaf (thank you a lot). I was near tears by this time. She said, stupid American and walked away. Just one of my many wonderful memories of the short time I lived there.
What about having a Great Pyrenees dog pee in your shoe & you don’t know it till you put it on. Haha happened to my husband.

That’s why I ALWAYS shake my shoes before putting them on. Learned that in the marine corps, because out in the field you never know WHAT might crawl in there.
I used to hang my clothes outside to dry especially in the spring and summer and early fall. I had put on a pair of stretch tight fitting jeans and something kept scratching at me so when I took them off I noticed a wasp on the inside of my jeans. Luckily I was not stung.

this happened to me a couple weeks ago. except I felt it and ignored it figured I just had an itch on my foot or something. then like 20 minutes later I got into my.car and felt it again. I took off my shoe... nothing. took off my sock and turned it inside out and there was an earwig inside My sock. I had line dried my laundry the day before. I even rolled my socks into balls and took it out of my drawer the next morning so he was trapped in there overnight. I now check every single sock before I put it on. im.scarred for life.

Those huge roaches are not due to a dirty house. The Orkin man said they are ",tree roaches" that fly into your home through open windows or doors. They are harmless, but so intimidating they can make you hurt yourself running away.
I know it's a bug what kind of bug I've had a mouse in my boot and I walked around with something moving in my boot for 20 minutes before I realized it wasn't my sock that was moving pulled it off my cat had ran a mouse in my boots sometime in the night that was not fun but he didn't bite me

I keep my shoes in the house the only place they belong for me even my grass mowing shoes I have a shoe rack by my front door nice and neat and off the floor that would really creep me out
I never leave my shoes outside, I live in Missouri, that should say at all. But I’ll explain, there may be 10 different species of spiders inside my shoes by morning! Never do I keep them outside anymore take them off carrying them inside, put them on rug. I still check my shoes because we have spiders in the house and raccoons and raccoons. If there’s a way to get inside my house, they will find it.!!
