I was with my ex-boyfriend in his convertible corvette going out for a nice dinner one warm summer evening with the top down and I was wearing a pretty top with an above-the-knee skirt. We were stopped at a traffic light, talking to eachother, when suddenly something dark & large dropped out of the night sky, directly onto the inside of one of my thighs and started crawling upward‼️😱 I could NOT see what it was & I was trying to jump up & out of the car, but I had my seat belt on & I wasn't getting very far! 😆 I just kept squirming & my boyfriend reached over & unlatched my seat belt & I jumped out onto the street, shaking & swatting myself. I looked like a crazy lady! Turns out, it was one of those huge Palmetto bugs. When we saw it we both started laughing hysterically! They are harmless & don't bother me normally, but I had no idea what was in my lap & I had a minor freak out.

yeah when I was young I put my mailbox shoes by the front door, put my foot in and OUCH!! a scorpion had taken up residence in my shoe.

I was in Morocco walking down the street when the biggest bug Ive ever seen flew into me and latched onto my shirt. I started swatting and screaming and running. Looking down at it, it looked like an alien, it had huge long legs and big eyes. Like a giant katy did. Its prickly legs were tangled in my knit type tank top. No matter how I swatted, I couldnt get it off me. I couldn't pull the shirt over my head, I was afraid it would stick in my hair. I was making a complete fool of myself, running in circles screaming when an older Moroccan woman approached me calmly, grabbed the bug with her bare hands and threw it to the ground. I said, Shukran bezaf (thank you a lot). I was near tears by this time. She said, stupid American and walked away. Just one of my many wonderful memories of the short time I lived there.
l was 3 yrs old leaning on my mom's lap , early summer evening on our farm home's balcony...when suddenly, l felt something like nails on my stomach...my Daddy has paid attention and pulled up my dress up and grabbed a huge bat that was grabbing my stomach's area. l haven't forgotten it. l was very lucky to have had a wonderful Daddy. Remember being pregnant trying to get home to pee. Couldn’t make it in the house so I wobbled to the backyard and proceeded to squat. Something ran up my leg and I ran up out my clothes. By the time I made it to the front door I was naked.Thank goodness it was dark because my neighbors would’ve seen it all.
My mom grew up in an orphanage and she slept in a very old house that had a lot critters in and outside. The girls were told to check their beds for spiders and do not put on their shoes until they checked them for not only spiders but bats.
My reaction would be a little different. That shoe with bug would have been launched as far as I could throw it. No way it's anywhere near me.

I never leave my shoes outside, I live in Missouri, that should say at all. But I’ll explain, there may be 10 different species of spiders inside my shoes by morning! Never do I keep them outside anymore take them off carrying them inside, put them on rug. I still check my shoes because we have spiders in the house and raccoons and raccoons. If there’s a way to get inside my house, they will find it.!!

I still put mu hand in my shoe to check evertyime, every shoe. where I was raised there were many things that would crawl into your shoe no matter where you set them. number one thing we check for was scorpions
I grew up in the middle of the woods like no neighbors down in a valley 5 min from the flint river n now I life in the city where my neighbors are right beside us and I’ll still always check my shoes bc you never know, I’ve scorpions all kinds of spiders baby snakes
Always shake your shoes out before you put them on. Might sound crazy but I do it every day and most of my shoes stay in their boxes. lol
My daughter had a scorpion in her pant leg one morning before school. It stung her twice. Thankfully she stayed calm so she was fine. 🙏🏼

A wolf spider bit my face once while I was sleeping. I thought it was a pimple and it did pop but it kept getting bigger and bigger. I went to the doctor and found out the spider gave me Mersa or how ever you spell it. Couldnt sleep on my side for almost 2 months if I did all the puss in my face would’ve leaked into my neck and suffocated me while I was sleeping
