Picked up a massive one that I almost hit with my car because he was around a sharp bend in the road and on the decline. I didn't see it until I was right in front of it. Knowing others might hit it, I tried to encourage it to move on off the road, but it wasn't having any of it. I picked him up, as far back as I possibly could and his head came out and stretched and stretched, almost to the very back of its huge shell. I had no idea and right then, it peed and peed and peed some more. Completely filling up my shoes, which were pumps, because I was in a dress, all decked out, to go on a date, out to dinner. Good thing I brought a second pair of nylons and shoes because those were destroyed and stinky as hell. No sooner do I successfully swing this big baddy up onto a field, I see two farmers doubled over laughing at me and this beast. Yup- another white lady tryin to save a beast from getting harmed. If that snapper didn't pee a gallon size amount, then he peed 2 gallons worth. No

The boyscout camp i use to go to in upstate New York had a snapper turtle that big in the lake up there. Only had 1 eye from some asshole who shot it in the face with a .22 decades prior, or so the story goes. its name was "Goliath". this was 25 years ago, but I big sob is still alive up there.
