Derided Martin Luther King Jr. as “awful… not a good person.” At TPUSA’s AmericaFest in Dec. 2023, Kirk attacked MLK’s character and said admiration for him was based on “one good thing he actually didn’t believe.” Said passing the Civil Rights Act was a “huge mistake.” In the same AmericaFest context, Kirk argued the 1964 Civil Rights Act created an entrenched DEI “bureaucracy” and called its passage a mistake. Questioned Black professionals’ competence (“Black pilot” remark). In Jan. 2024, Kirk said on his show: “If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, ‘Boy, I hope he’s qualified,’” prompting accusations of racism for implying Black pilots are less competent. Repeated false claims minimizing Floyd’s killing.

ppl didn't like him bc he was always right! he spoke the truth when nobody had the balls to! he was an amazing and inspirational man! a very blessed sole was taken today and hopefully somebody as good as him will come along again bc we really needed him in there... he made a huge difference in this world! may not have agreed with this man, but this is truly sad. I never saw him act violent or condone or cause violence. he had ideas that he discussed, which is how we should truly settle our differences. I'm sorry that this tragedy happened
