I think this is a great idea it could really scare them of.
“Scared Straight” programs take children into prisons to face hardened inmates who shout, threaten, and intimidate them. The idea is to terrify them into avoiding crime, but fear alone does not produce righteousness. Proverbs 1:7 says the fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, not the fear of man. Many of these displays are dramatized, meant to shock and entertain rather than truly reform. At best, it may scare a child temporarily, but without a change of heart, they return to the same environment and fall back into sin. True change only comes through repentance, baptism in Jesus’ name, and receiving the Holy Ghost. Fleshly fear fades, but godly conviction transforms. Programs like this expose society’s attempt to fix rebellion without addressing sin. The consequence is that children may be scared for a season but never saved for eternity.
