As a pole vaulter myself in High School with no coaching. I only achieved 9’6” terrible for that sport even for HS. And was embarrassed when I went against against Bellflower HS in southern Calif in the 70’s. And these guys with great coaching & training since they were in the 7th grade. We’re clearing 15-16 feet in High School. And at that time the world record was 18 feet By Bruce Jenner who was a man at that time. And to see this guy do 20 feet, he must be Super human! Unbelievable!😲
I tried a lot of different athletic things when I was a young man. Pole vaulting is one that I could never do with any meaningful success. I'm absolutely amazed at how these men and women can launch themselves.
It was a 2024 Olympic World Record by Armand "Mondo" Duplantis of Sweden. 20 feet 6 inches.

He was really hauling as to get the momentum he needed, but the form of his jump was so perfect it did not look like a human , that jump was really impressive every aspect of it
