What boggles my mind is that the guy is now out of incarceration. I’m sorry, even if you are schizophrenic, I feel as if when you take another person’s life and it can be proven without a doubt they should take your life. I may be liberal another fast, but I believe in the death penalty. It’s tragic that the family has to know that the man who killed their son is out there enjoying his life. We put dogs down for doing less than that. Why don’t we just get rid of the trash?

Wow, this is such an awful case. He not only stabbed the 22 yr old guy and beheaded him, but he also cannabilized him. At trial in 2009, Li was found not criminally culpable due to a diagnosis of schizophrenia. He was locked up in a mental facility and released in 2015. At the very least, this psycho should have spent the rest of his life in that mental facility. The laws in Canada seem perverse.
At any point in time, he can go off his meds and all those voices he hears, and everything else comes back. He should not be out. And the poor family of the young man this happened to deserves better. How can any lawyer judge ect say this sentence was justified. truly heartbreaking

The crazy thing is the killer didn't go to prison. He went to a psychiatric place and is now completely free. The psychiatric place claimed he was better after being on meds and let him go. There were a lot of people in Canada who protested his release but he was allowed to leave anyway.

I remember this, I was working security at the portland greyhound station when the news came in from one of the drivers. the killer stated that the kid was playing music too loud through his headphones so he pulled out a Bowie knife and stabbed him repeatedly on yhe chest and then cut his head off and walked up and down the bus with it. the driver locked him in the bus and he and a truck driver stood guard over the door with crowbar until police arrived

I see above where a lady said he goes by different name out now and he got out in 2017 and was sentenced in 2008! this is the way I feel about murder. if you take someone's life you should spend the rest of your life in prison! especially if there is no self-defense reason for the life you took! so basically he got a 9 years in prison! but yet the family has to deal with not having their son for the rest of their lives! they get to deal with not seeing him get married not having grandchildren!

I heard the story he started stabbing the kid repeatedly in the neck eventually cutting off his head when everyone was outside the bus he was seen eating his head one person who told rold reporters he never heard such unnerving sound while the kid was screaming in pain
