it might be creepy for you, and totally understandable as to why. But you can see that, that man is 100% working on his issues. His behavior is indicating that he is trying to not react negatively. Taking his therapists advice even though he CLEARLY does not like you, is pushing him to change the fight wiring in his head. This is a beautiful example of someone actually trying to better themselves.

I think this was a test and he did the right thing by going to his car and calling someone he didn’t proceeded to go ahead and separate himself in the situation which again for him was probably growth which clearly resulted in a positive interaction with someone and not only that he took the time to make a connection with the person, although he comes off a bit odd his truly trying to work on himself and out of that might’ve been for him the positive movement in the right direction
That probably saved his life and yours as well
