I as a woman understand exactly what he's saying. I learned the hard way. When you have so called women friends they secretly jealous of your relationship when you are happy and they are not. on the reverse. it's a problem when you fear of the friends view of the new girlfriend.. I had a friend of nearly 30 years. he (my friend) starts being a bum basically. I had got him a good job, making more money than I was. he no call no shows, throws the job away. gets a job at a dollar store. one day I'm giving him a ride somewhere, he's upset about his wife and him "not getting along", I told him that his child is most important factor here and you should be willing to do whatever to make things work out for his daughters sake and the reason they're not getting along is because he's not carrying his weight.. he said some shit like" what about my happiness", which I said you gave up that when you had a child. he didn't like my answer, when they split up and he started seeing someone else, he stopped taking to me. which I can only guess is cause he couldn't handle me not just coddling him like his mom. he totally ghosted me after nearly 30 years of friendship.

What do you mean, talk to no one else ? One of my best friends is male and he knew my mom. Before I did, she used to babysit him while she was pregnant with me. I would not give up our friendship over any man's insecurities. Don't get it twisted, I showed my husband the utmost respect. And he knew by my actions how much he meant to me everyday of his life.

I didn't take his statement for #1 to literally mean not talk to anyone else. He may have meant not having conversations with someone else that you would have with your significant other. You can still talk to members of the opposite sex, but the conversations should not be ones reserved for your special person. Such conversations can lead to emotional cheating.
