Ive had chickens . I hate ppl who let the dogs run lose . I've lost more chickens from dogs . Then wild life . And if a fox gets one it doesn't matter to me. At least they kill for food . Dogs kill for fun
It looks like the chicken may have survived. My neighbor has chickens. One day I come home at around dusk and I see the fox sitting just off my driveway, looking at me. I got out of the car and the fox didn’t move but continue to just watch me. So I decided to approach it. He sat there as I approached him and upon getting closer he moved away 10 or 15 feet. I’m thinking to myself, this behavior seems very strange. Then, I see a dark lump on the lawn. I realize right away, it’s one of my neighbors chickens. I then look down the hill and across the street to see the neighbor, now out with a flashlight looking for his chicken, I walked over and told him his chicken was up in my yard and the story I had just explained about the fox. By that time, the chicken was dead. I couldn’t get over how bold the fox was to just sit there.

I’m moving to Georgia next year as we’re going to be building a house on family farm land and there’s lots of wooded areas surrounding the plot of land we’ll be using; and I’m worried about my small dogs becoming food for an owl, other prey birds or four legged critters. Trying to work out in my mind how to create a safe/secure fenced in area with a top, to keep them safe so they can go in out of house freely without needing to be watched into fenced area. Oh and I want to have chickens too.
