I’m sorry, I’m going through this too. I can relate. It is hard and it hurts a parent. I carried my son 9 months. He is named after his father. All is changed and hard for us both to accept. We are in our 70’s. It’s not a matter of getting over ourselves. It goes deeper than that. Our son is paranoid- schizophrenia and currently in psychosis with 3 different personalities. I’ve been going through his mental illness since age 18. This change came on all of a sudden. It does hurt bad. So don’t give me your nonsense uninvited psychology thoughts. If you have no unsupported thoughts or nice things to say, say nothing at all.

good or bad, you have to allow people their feelings. and everyone has a right to feel what they feel. he never said he didn't love him. he never said he's not his son. so up to that, we can allow this dad to feel what he's feeling. u gotta understand something, when we hold that tiny human in our hands for the first time, your whole life AS WE SEE IT flashes before our eyes. we see you going to school, your first dance. your first broken heart, your graduation, your marriage, grandchildren....the moment he walked out on that stage like that, all those dreams and hopes just went BOOOOOOM! And it's almost the same as a death. and you have to let someone grieve for what they thought was gonna be. and need time to adjust to something else.
I'm sorry but as a parent, my child is 4ever mine. He or she can choose who they need to be and how they need to live. As long as I have brought them up in the right manner, they should know right from wrong. Most are born this way it is not just because they want to act as a woman or a man. I would suggest that before they change their body that they are 18 or older and know all the risks in surgical changes. It's like young women getting breasts enlarged when most get breasts after the age of 18 talk to a doctor! Without money or risks!!! Let your children grow up first, then let them make their own decisions. These choices should not be yours it's their life. If you're choosing their life and choices, you need to get a life of your own. Love them always, no matter what, because if you don't, someday you will be all alone. 🙏💕
