beaches in both the US Virgin Islands (USVI) and the British Virgin Islands (BVI) are public, though access to them can be restricted. In the USVI, the law provides public access to the shoreline up to 50 feet inland or the natural vegetation line. In the BVI, beaches are public and have free access, but the government regulates use and behavior. Private property owners are not required to grant public access through their land, but you can often reach these beaches by water.
