Got Promoted to Major Because of His Name

when i was in the Corps,we had a company clerk who's last name was Major.He was a Brit who joined the Corps.He was a Sgt so when he answered the phone,he would always say,Sgt Major here so everyone that didnt know,would assume he was an E9,sgtmajor,until he told them he was only a Sgt E5 Pretty funny.i loved his accent and he used to give us a hard time about our American accents.

my last name is Driver. I got stationed at the home of Army transportation, to the headquarters company, on the same day as my friend, whose last name is Parker. We're both truck Drivers. A Driver and a Parker. I imagine that there was some General in the Pentagon that was getting a good laugh.
