During a freshman orientation in the school gym on August 19, 2025, a verbal dispute between a student and a staff member escalated into a physical assault. The teacher attempted to guide the unruly student out of the gym, and in response, the student shoved and punched the teacher. The Western Placer Unified School District issued a statement condemning the student's behavior and confirming that the student would face disciplinary action. The Lincoln Police Department stated that the student was arrested and booked into juvenile hall.

Someone said what if that was my teenager? if that was my child then I would have failed as a parent and my disobedient teen would be subjected to back breaking consequences for his violent behavior at this level. That little boy needed to be put in his place. No matter the situation you don’t have the right to put your hands on anyone unless you’re defending yourself or another person. That officer was defending that teacher from a violent aggressor. He used like force and was well within his right to do so.
