it's got to be a backstory to that his mom kicked him out for a reason. and when he called her up on mother's Day she hung the phone up on him for a reason. kids go from house to house all the time because they don't want to follow rules and regulations of one house so they go to the other house thinking it's going to be better. this is why I said it's a lot more to this story than what is being told. I am not saying that he's not a good kid today. but we are only getting half the story of him and his mother.

he was asked to move to his mother at the age of 16 almost 15 nearly 16 when she needed him to find an alternative for a living space.. he wasn't booted out from his mama's house until he was 17 and that's when he started living with his father in Detroit. the commentator narrating this needs to know more about the people that they're trying to get Fame off of... which is why I believe speed himself shows more compassion towards people due to his own situation and embrace all the love and caring and gifts that he can do to it not being a abundance in his life.. I don't think this character would have ever changed regardless who he grew up with or who he wanted.. but the world is his embracement in the world shows him more love than his own family and that is why he continued to be who he is
