Ships are important yes and played a huge role in the past. Now space, air, and underwater ships are the future. Elon in a few years time will have the most coveted fleet in the world. He has a different purpose in mind for them besides war. Exploration of the stars, transport, and cargo. Just think if Space X built a base in space for the Air Force that could hold 50 personal and a dozen armed Starships. I don’t think Elon would let them have Starships but would build that base. Assume the Space Force did have them. Armed with drones, missiles, and electronic warfare. That is space superiority along with air. It goes against space treaties but in all likelihood China, Russia, and the US already have weapons in space. Do that with making improvements in sub tech for deeper depths and faster speeds and you have a huge advantage
