I grow my own beef. Tonight, my family and a friend, will have 2 ribeyes, 2 sirloins and 2 T bones. All of these cost me the exact same price. Just under $6 per lb. All of my grounds, roasts, brisket, all of it under $6 per pound. If you want great beef and would like to leave out the middle men, talk to a local rancher. The cattle markets are very strong right now and not as many folks are selling standing beef to locals as normal, but search it out. You will find someone who does this regularly and knows exactly how to make it the best steak you’ve ever eaten, both in taste and prime texture.
You are not paying for the meat …. You are paying for someone buy, store, prepare, cook, serve the steak and clean up after you have left the comfortable air conditioned facility
Just go to your local butcher and buy a fresh cut one like I do way cheaper than the grocery store

Well, its more than the location. can't eat steak from butcher without cooking it. ditto for supermarket. And i'd guess that a high end steak comes with items that a diner can't match. and better service and surroundings.

flip the average steak about every 7 minutes every song is 3 do they have minutes to 4 minutes long. two songs and you're pretty much ready without a watch if it's a long song don't be an idiot
where is this at? $7 steak? here is $14 for a round steak. $24 for a tiny rib eye.
I don't mind paying for a great meal. I don't mind the cost at all of thats what I want. What makes me mad about eating at a four or five star restaurant is this. The server had be at the top of their game. If I have to ask for a refill on my drink of choice because the server can't see the glass ½ full. The tip drops. If a server is rude, disrespectful or has a poor attitude. NO TIP....
The point of the post… Is saying it’s not just what you think you are at this moment… It’s where you are… And how you are treated There’s an old… Pygmalion affect… The movie my fair Lady… Exemplified this The other old adage is birds of a feather flock together… Meaning if you hang around junkies and drunks… You will probably become one… But if you hang around people with goals …… And character and push you to be a better self than you probably will… Gain some confidence and have better goals in life. Either way it’s your choice… We are giving that… We make choices and have to lie in our own bed… And stop blaming others for your bad choices!

You could argue about the way that hunk of meat was aged, prepared, served and the cost of the ambience and other services surrounding it as you move up the scale. A better analogy would be the lowly bottled water that is 50 cents or less at the supermarket, $3 at the gym, $5 at the movie theater and $8 at the airport.
