In two different places of video you can see signage that says diving not allowed, presumably because of the depth of the water being shallow. You can clearly see the pool is not very deep in a few of the clips. The potential for head/neck injury when diving head first is realistic. But usual protocol allows for athletes that have been trained in shallow water dives or athletes under a coaches supervision to dive in shallow water others would be prohibited from. That is normal. What is not normal is flipping someones feet mid air and unannounced so they end up in a position that points their head at an angle directed at the bottom of the pool. This is so negligent and unsafe that no doubt a lawsuit will be coming at some point if continued. Also I cant imagine any Swimming Governing body/Insurance Policy would condone this activity. I would say most already have rules in place prohibiting such a thing.

instead of tapping their feet, maybe he should teach them the proper way to jump off the blocks. There is no way that light tap on the foot is going to cause anyone who swims competitively to dive in like that.

Because some random person from the crowd may give a swimmer a smack at the start of a race 👍
