yes I remember when my mom was holding my left arm and I was running in a circle and she was wearing the back of my legs out. but that was because of my poor decisions. lessons well taught
I went to college in KY, some parents there made their misbehaving children go outside and get a switch, ( break a branch off of a tree ) so that they could whoop them. My nephew's little friend was at the house playing, they were 6 or 7 years old, the girl's Father called on the phone to tell her she had to go home, well she was having so much fun she didn't go home, he came over irate telling her she was going to have to get a switch when they got home, I, at 20 years old, yelled at him that he better not hit her and I said. "When you were a kid, you never had so much fun at a friend's house that you wanted to stay there?!" I dont know if he hit her or not, I hope not, I mean, she was having fun with her friend, what was the crime?
My mama was from the south.. She didn't have a problem getting a switch.. When she gave that look.. I knew my place right away..😆 Once was enough for me.. OUCH..😲

When I showed them to my mom she just said to show them to the nurse at school. Of course didn't Because I was too scared of my dad and what he would do.
I disappeared and didn't show up again until it was dinner time. Then I got my ass beat. At least I went to bed with a full stomach.

I can remember all of grandkids staying with Grandma & GPA at their cottage on an island in the St. Claire flats and when us boys got to rowdy- Gma would go out to the big willow tree and pulled off a limb & she would tell us- " That's ok you buggars, you have to come home sometime"! Even we thought she'd 4get by the end of the day- we were wrong!! She still got us!!! I will never 4get that grin on her face when her patience outlasted us. She was a cool (German) grandmother!!! In today's times that's called child abuse. The crime in today's times are because of govt making it illegal to spank your kids!!! I don't remember her ever using the switches on us- it was the thought of a pissed off German that scared us!! Those were the days....
