Years ago it was a scam. They supposedly wrapped the dress in acid free paper and taped the box. Said if you open it the warranty was invalid. When people did open it nothing was inside. They resold the dresses. Disgusting

I paid to have my dress cleaned and sealed ,opened years later, and it had never been cleaned. The company was out of business and all I had was a ruined dress that I paid over $100 for cleaning and sealing
okay, I had my dress for 27 years. There was the main box, then another box that had the dress. There was a lid, and there was a clear display lid under that so you could see the dress. If that seal was broken, then the warranty was broken. My dry cleaner explained this to me after showing me my dress before I left the dry cleaners. Yep, they did that. In 80's was a scam some dry cleaners did. We heard about it and checked my dress. I just wanted it cleaned proper and in box for storage, didn't matter if I broke seal, cuz I knew certain type of tissue used helped keep dress from yellowing. But sad for those that never checked, becuz had they, then they could have sued the dry cleaners
Our customers ALWAYS got their cherished dresses!! I insisted they checked them out before they left our shop!! Never had a dissatisfied customer!! My husband’s cleaning genius & a silk finisher to die for made ours a go to for wedding dress finishing. 💕

i found my moms dress box under her bed when little and took it out haha. years later i wore it at my wedding.
heck mine wasn't preserved by anyone, my Mom loaned it out and then forgot who she loaned it to
I opened my box with wedding dress inside. my dress was in there but was covered in red punch (I assume). it had many holes from people stepping on it. and very dirty. whoever wore my dress must have been shorter than me. after so many years, of course, the original cleaners are gone.

I was walking by some trash can waiting for pick up. There was a box just like that on top. Nothing on it, not dirty. It was a very old wedding dress.
