Panthers and leopards (Panthera pardus) are two of the same species, namely Panthera Pardus. Even so, both animals have two different colors, namely black and spotted yellow. The difference in color is caused by the melanistic pigment that makes the panther have a dark body color. Since the black panther is simply a black form of leopard, these can breed with regular spotted leopards. The offspring are not hybrids. In Jaguars these melanistic genes can be inherited & even passed down if said gene is dominant. Thus siblings in the same litter can be born with different coloured fur.

Panthers are leopard the only difference is the panther have black fur likewise, the leopard has yellow fur, with black spots just like Polar bears, grizzly bears, and black bears are still bears despite, their different color of fur let that sink in.

Noone notices they call the "Panther" a female and them it shows the panther mounting the other.
They are acting like they are a different cat species. They are both Leopards. A "panther" is not a distinct species but a common name for melanistic (black) large cats from the genus 'Panthera' which includes Leopards, Jaguars, even Lions, and Tigers.
