Years ago I moved to Maine for a couple of years and I remember the first time I saw a moose as it strolled through the backyard, past the kitchen window where I was washing some dishes...I mostly just saw legs and had to lean forward to look up and see the rest of it‼️ Holy cow are they tall! I had seen plenty of big deer/elk and even Bison before, but I wasn't expecting the height of a fully grown moose! I got to see plenty more over the next couple of years up there and I saw one terrible accident where an old lady had hit one and it landed on her car and killed her and it was bad! They are beautiful but they are wild and very protective of their young. Be careful and enjoy them from a safe distance.

My sister and brother-in-law live in Canada way up north,B-in-law went for a walk with the dog all of a sudden he heard a pounding sound,looked up and a moose was running at him he was able to get behind a tree it ran past him then here comes the dog.He started telling the dog if you are going to do do crazy things make sure I am ready.

Beware Moose moms are very protective! I have seen them race across a stream and run at humans while hunting in Maine many years ago ! In Alaska they have even trampled Students at U of Alaska !

There are no Moose where I live but I saw a mama deer help her two fawns cross the road. As I was driving on a country road I saw a doe step out of the brush and when she saw my truck she turned around and went back into the thicket she came out of. I drove on down the road 150 yards or so and pulled over and sat there. About 5 minutes later I saw her stick her head out and look at me for about a minute. Finally she crossed the road then stopped on the other side next to the edge of the woods. I then saw her wiggle her tail. When she did that 2 small yearlings came running across the road to join her. They ran off into the woods together.

So cute. But never interfere or the mom will kill you. Moose are very big and dangerous, especially if they have babies. It’s their natural instinct to protect at all cost. Humans should learn from them.
