As a former delivery room nurse, this dr is doing his job in getting the airway & lungs cleared. Like everyone is saying, this is a big baby. He is not hurting her. Bless him, mother and baby! 🙏👍💕
holding baby upside down and patting on the babies BOTTOM ONLY, CAUSES ALL FLUID TO DRAIN OUT OF BABIES MOUTH, NOSE easily, fast while crying. that is the main reason the umbilical cord should be clipped and clamped immediately after birth to do that upside down acti🤷🤱🧑🍼🍼💓👍n fast, easy. As enough of that "BLOOD" is already in the babies body after birth. 🥰

He needs a little suction to get some of those secretions out of his airway. That would help him cry and breathe better. Coming from a NICU nurse.

Relax everybody. The glove makes the clapping (which is very necessary if the infant doesn’t cry and expectorate) sound more harsh than it is. Such a good natured baby!If she was in pain there’d be one hellacious wailing. Newborns do not hold back on their feelings.

I don't know have any medical knowledge, but it makes sense what he's doing. He isn't smacking baby hard at all. Look at the doctors face he doesn't look like he straining or squinting from smacking the babies back. If he was hitting the baby hard his face wouldnt be relaxed like it is. Looks like hes probably birthed a few babies before. He looks comfortable, relaxed, and confident as if its just another day at the office.
That Docter is trying to open the baby's airway up. Smaking the back like that is called cupping. Also, that is a very big baby. The Docter is not trying to hurt the baby at all.
My mom had COPD and they would do that same thing on her back to get her lungs cleared. Once she cried he knew she was breathing. A suction bulb won't get stuff out of her lungs.How amazing is that ...this brand new perfect beautiful baby!

A newborn of utero is seen being shocked into breathing to stimulate mucous plugs in the lungs for an active stimuli response "alive or still borne." Worked in this specialty for many years...💕
Wow! It really took vigorous stimulation to get that baby to cry. Typically, doctors just flick the soles of the newborn's feet with their fingers.
That’s why doctors do that for them to breathe and if they don’t they would be dead. Everyone should have the knowledge of what doctors do so they can do something about it ❤️❤️❤️❤️

now my son was born not breathing he was more dead then alive they took him to the other room I was scared because the doctor looked at the nurse and not long after they took him oh my Heavenly Father his cry was so thick and I looked at my spouse and said is that it was my son and there after he never stopped crying all day and night I took him to the doctor they said there's nothing wrong with him he is a healthy baby boy and still to this day he has his babies they are quiet babies and not him he still cries because Iif he doesn't listen or gets lippy I will spank him with the belts my other kids laugh see mom can still beat your butt lol 🤣😆
