We have those in Central America too, I was climbing a tree to get a fruit and accidentally held onto a stick bug, it was half the size of the one he is holding, I fell, still holding onto it,only then I realize that it wasn’t the branch that snapped 😲. I never climbed another tree after that 😱.
We have them in Haiti they're green.
