I'm surprised that finger required surgery and a week-long hospital stay. It appeared to be attached by just a little bridge of skin. Typically, they can tie it off when they're newborns and it will fall off.

A week in the hospital? That's ridiculous. Minor outpatient surgery. That doctor ripped you off. actually, you could remove it yourself by tying a string around it.

My dentist was born with an extra finger as we're his children. The fingers were removed but I always considered it a sign of talented hands. One child followed him into dentistry and the other is a surgeon.

When my daughter was born she had an extra thumb. It was fully developed. It was right next to her other thumb. It had nail and bone. She even sucked it!! We had to wait unti she weighed 20 lbs before they would do surgery. They removed it like yours everything went very well. God Bless! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🥰

My daughter was born w extra digits on both feet and hands. They were tied and fell off on their own. No surgery, incisions or meds. No bone or cartilage attachment shouldn’t require surgery.

My 38 year-old son had an extra little pinky at birth. When he was 5 months old we had it surgically removed, and he was in a cast up to his shoulder for about six weeks! He did not pass the gene on to his daughters!!
