It needs to be explained to the child what they did wrong and why they can't. Then, there are many forms of discipline you can use. Put them in a chair, a cribe, a room, and even a smack on the but is fine with me, depending on what they did wrong and the rebellion they did. There might be a cause to smack their hand, depending on the wrong. But usually a good talking to, like explaining, is all they need.
