Saxon actually had a brown belt in Shotokan karate and was proficient in judo. He did some terrific acting in three Nightmare on Elm St movies. He should have used some karate and judo on Freddy Krueger.

If I remember my history right this man was also one of Bruce Lee's students along with John Saxxon.
Actually, Bruce Lee was originally supposed to fight Bolo, but Hollywood made Lee rewrite the script, so Mr. Roper had to fight and defeat him. They had little respect for Orientals, and if Lee didn't do it, they were not going to give him the finances to finish this great film. He relented. Everything still turned out alright, but I'm a movie buff, and I researched this. Saxon was also supposed to be the one killed in Hahn's office instead of Jim Kelly. Again, they made him rewrite that part also because they had little respect for black actors also. Bruce did what he had to because he believed in his dream. He passed away the same year it was released, and his wife said he would have been pleased.
