That's exactly what the media and government want you to think. Times changed what restrictions they put on firearms . They've demonized gun ownership and scared the public about guns. The people who want to ban guns generally have never fired one. You don't like stuff you're not familiar with. Guns are not deadlier, the same rounds are used, in fact most are smaller. Same with so called "assault" rifles. They shoot the same ammo as regular rifles. Semi automatic is one bullet at a time. Most gun deaths are suicide or gang shootings. Plus back in the day there were fewer people so with the vast increase in population, I'm surprised there aren't more shootings. The problem is the people, guns don't shoot by themselves. If there is a mass shooting, the gun was just the tool for some sick individual.
