In the 70's, 80's and 90's I carried long guns with a sling riding a motorcycle. And yes I carried them in a pickup truck in a gun rack mounted to the back window to school. And no we didn't lock the doors. Tell me about your generation growing up.

Items must not interfere with your ability to steer or safely handle the bike. Carrying items on your person that cause instability, or are not securely fastened, can lead to citations for unsafe operation or reckless riding. Just think how this officer would feel if he didn’t stop this guy, and he ended up injured or dead! That item is to big, and anyone who rides knows how wind affects your balance, add something else to pick up wind you could be in trouble. Wind at, above or gusts at just 30mph you try to tuck into the bike or lower your profile to avoid wind resistance, can’t tuck the guitar! IMO he was careless, and yes,I do ride, safely ofc, I don’t tote my drum set on my back full of bread 😆

Now this is a bit stupid on the officers part. Show me a law that states a man can’t strap a guitar or whatever he needs to carry with him, to his back while driving a motorcycle. This cop would have a heart attack in the Philippines where they strap much more than a guitar to their back and wherever else they can strap it. I once seen two 5 gallon buckets tied together with a rope. Then the rope was laid across the seat of the bike with one bucket hanging off both sides. There were 3 ppl on the seat of the bike and a small child in each bucket. That is the way the roll in the Philippines!

cops are not heroes, so the cop has an issue because the cop dont play the guitar, so since he dont strap one on his back, that dont mean other people dont. look, when cops pull you over just because they say its odd, it is not a reason to pull you over. dont ever talk and dont let them s search anything really when you are good and dont have anything. if the cop says if you dont have anything to hide, then it shouldn't bother you. what you have or dont have is none of his business. the only good cop is one that's pushing up daisies
