I can't stand people like that coming at the last minute. What they should have done is lock the door 5 minutes to 10:00!
That is so rude to do to anyone, he had the kitchen all cleaned and some jerk comes in one minute before closing!!! I'd tell them everything in kitchen has been shut off!!!

My wife worked at a local department store and closed the doors at 6pm. on a Sunday as this Mom and her son were walking towards the door! That was the closing time! And that Woman called corporate to make a complaint! Which management took her message, but nothing happened to my wife! Some people need to learn to be on time and respect that other people have families and life’s too!

I was a dishwasher cleaning up taking out trash 10 min till closing @ a steak house when I saw a tour bus pulling up...we fixed what we could work over a extra hour plus a lot of our crew went home, they gave us $100 tip each..they were rich investors buying land for a new mall.

I do agree if your open til 10 then start cleaning at 10. I couldn’t believe I drove in the rain at night to the at&t store in Festus to buy my 2dt iPhone . Great!!! I have 25 min. til they close! All 6 people just looked at me nobody offered to see what I needed…. Nothing? There was now 5 different people that came in for something…. Then a lady stood and said Well it’s 10 min til closing we won’t be helping anyone tonight we won’t have enough time. Come back in the a.m I politely said then u need to correct your hrs for your customers . So they don’t rush here 30 min before closing thinking someone would care to wait on them. It’s false advertising! Plus very rude! 🤔
I don't blame him. Not only is the food prepared but the grill must be totally cleaned before they close. Doing this is hateful towards the employees.

Anyone that works in any restaurant should KNOW you’re not leaving at 10 if you close at 10. You need a least 30-45 to close down. If you close @ 10 that means grill is open that late- don’t break down before door is locked 🤷♀️duh. Annoying customers order that late but … that’s what It is. Suck it up
I was a cook a restaurant. It was a slow night, and I already had my grill brick and cleaned. A bus load of people came in of 10 people. I was not a happy camper. I knocked out those 10 meals in nine minutes and clean my grill in five minutes. So it really wasn’t a big deal.

When I was a server way back in the '80s, we closed at 11. There were many times that people came in right before 11:00. since we got tips and that is still pretty early, I didn't mind it so much. But the guys in the back...mad as all get out.

Shut down orders at 940 pm , finish the orders that you have . The grill is off 20 minutes before closing.

I’ve been there working in the meat department and everything is clean and a customer wanted something cut and I had to use the bandsaw to do her order at 9:55pm and the store closes at 10pm! Well the store manager was pissed because now I have to reclean the bandsaw with a hose and spend an extra 40 minutes cleaning! I learned my lesson fast and I shut the lights off at 9:50pm . A couple of days later the same woman showed up at 9:55pm and actually rang the bell so I went out and she wanted something cut so I told her we should have some on the shelf. Oh no I want it fresh! Okay no problem come back tomorrow at an earlier time frame and have a wonderful evening and I left!

I don’t blame that guy at all. I wouldn’t tolerate that. I worked til 8:00. I closed the gate at 7:59. No more customers. These people do not that have a clue. I tell my friends all the time if a restaurant closed at a certain time give the business a break. I’m not going in. These young adults have to get home. They might have kids, take care of siblings, or pick up their children from a sitter, etc.. this chick needs a lesson in etiquette. The business might want to lock up at 9:59. People are still rude. The kitchen was probably already shut down.
