For the same reason DMV charges u to register ur car every year.It should be in their computer as being yours unless u sell it or take it to a dismantler. I should not have to pay for a tag every year to say its still mine. Nor should the county take my car cuz its on the street blocking my own driveway n force me to get it out of “car jail” (tow yard) cuz they have it towed. It’s absurd. Why do I have to pay gas tax (to keep roads repaired) & yet there are potholes everywhere……..

I live in a state that in one of the cities I used to live in I owned a small business and they would text me to buy equipment and then yeah they would re-tax me every year. talk about double dipping and triple dipping taxi to death. if they have their way it's a way for them to fill. their coffers should be illegal. once you get tax you should be done. I understand payroll tax. I get that I get a house tax. I also understand taxes on a vehicle but at the end of the day once you buy it and pay it off why are you still paying taxes on something that you own
