how about another scenario? there is no abuse, perhaps the mom tried her new recipe and she wanted her daughter to try it, the daughter loves her mom she's respectful and doesn't want to hurt her mom's feelings so she chokes down the food rather than to hurt her mom's feelings. Everything doesn't have to be about abuse, sometimes there's good in things if we look for the good and not the bad🥰

My granddaughter has Asperger’s and food texture issues, we do this while she’s trying something she may not like, therapists will tell parents that talking to a child like this can shift their focus on the food looking like something they do t tolerate. If I find my granddaughter cannot get past the gagging, I will remove it, praise her for being willing to try the new food and give her something else. This is a very limited video , this child is adorable.

The rest of the generation is MOSTLY fine. This little one is precious. She has very nice manners and is trying her best to be positive about the food. Our rules were you have to try a tiny amount of anything new and retry things from the past. Never in a restaurant, a holiday meal, or non family members home. Not one of my 4 children, 9 grandchildren or their significant others, my hubby, or my friends like pickled beets! Of course I enjoy them. All 4 of my children and some of my grandchildren like roasted beets. My oldest heard daddy say, “I hope Linda doesn't bring those d*mn brussels sprouts!” Erin was almost 3 years old. She went with Daddy to see if help was needed to carry food in. Erin said, “Aunt Linda, did you bring those d*mn Brussels sprouts?” Aunt Linda’s reply was, “No,I did not, I brought brownies, Uncle Doug brought the brussels sprouts.”

That poor little girl. How can a mother force her child to eat something that makes her gag like that? That's child abuse! Fine with me. I never did that to my children. if they didn't like it, they didn't have to eat it. My mom made me eat lima beans, and everytime I tried to eat them I would gag. I had to sit there until I ate some. After some time sitting there, mom let me leave the table without desert. This was back in the mid 60's. Mom relaxed after that and told me that she wanted me to grow up healthy. No worries, she was being a mom. 💕
