If you don't know how to read English and speak it, how are you supposed to navigate American streets, laws and signs.
GOOD!!!! This is UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, not Mexico not Venezuela not Nicaragua not Haiti, if you wanna come to our country and get behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler, you should have to be able to read and write in English. I agree on Donald Trump’s law 100%.
You know at first, you think how awful. But think about all these truckers on our highways barreling down on us and following signs (supposedly) they can’t read, I rethink my first observation. If you are moving to our country and taking a job, enjoying the American way of life, the least you can do is learn to speak, read and write our language. Take a class. They’re everywhere.

I worry about my brother in law cuz he is half Korean but born in California he drives trucks and it worries my sister in law too. my husband does dry wall so he's always at construction sites and doesn't look white but born in Utah his brother works at a mind. we women are all three terrified for our husbands in one family and we are all American born citizens

when I got my CDL I was one of the first ones in Minnesota to take the CDL test and the Federal motor Carrier safety regulation books state you must speak and read English fluently to drive a commercial vehicle and we're talking about 1990 1991 maybe why all the sudden the big push on it the only reason I want to know that is because how many years has it been what 35 goes to show you where the government's at thank you Mr Trump I appreciate what you're doing for the American people Happy Thanksgiving everybody

I’ve had 97% of my medicabs drivers not be able to communicate with me beyond knowing it’s me take me to or from my medical appointments! I live in NYC. It’s crazy! Their driving is even crazier! Sometimes terrifying! I agree with this 100%!

I fear there are people driving vehicles that can't read or write English. And that is hazardous and it causing wrong way fatalities. Our family lost our niece and almost her two boys that way, but the kids did survive but lost their mom.

It’s about time. Some states used to give the driver’s written test in Spanish. I guess this no longer happens anymore. If you are driving for a living you should know and be able to communicate in English.

This is ridiculous. Thats why most of our traffic signs are numbers or pictures. GPS in most languages. How is this helping prices?
Definitely not true. Yes they’re doing these tests but you don’t go to jail for not being able to pay $10k “on the spot”… That’s the equivalent of a debtors prison, which has been outlawed in the US for like 150+ years. If anyone was in handcuffs it’s bc they had a warrant, did something during the stop that led to the arrest(dui, possession, etc) or possibly were undocumented.
