That crash was off of Pt Mugu, California. They were inverted for quite awhile after Horizontal stabilizer issues on the tail. I retired as a Senior Captain after years worldwide in Aviation with no accidents, no incidents and no violations. It's only publicized when really bad accidents happen, none of my thousands of safe flights ever made the news. God Bless this crew and passengers.
I was a passenger on this flight with a friend of mine. I used to work for Alaska Airlines at that time. I was seated even with my seat belt on. Boarding was done and before the door was closed I decided to get off and go on another flight to LA next gate. I remember my friend Craig was the flight attendant leader. We were in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on vacation. I don’t know how to explain but suddenly I changed my mind and I asked my travel companion friend to change plans. Unfortunately the plane crashed with no survivors… already 25 years has passed. That was my last trip on AS after that I decided to resign from my job… very saddened situation because at least 60 of those passengers were employees and friends of AS…I can’t believe I was so close to die but I guess it wasn’t my time yet…🙏🏼
My brother Jay was on that flight. I will never forget when the FBI brought my mother what little bit of him they found.

it always amazes me how no matter the worst scenario, the pilots on a doomed airplane always speak so clearly with measured speech.. professional to the end

the scariest part isn't dying physically it's not waking up in heaven once you do make sure you know Jesus Christ as your lord and savior and believe that he died for your sins on the cross was buried and rose from. the dead according to the scriptures so you could live forever
For those blaming the pilot, the planes jackscrew system failed. There were maintenance deficiencies by the airline. Do your research before blaming someone.
My husband and I were scheduled for that flight.... until fate stepped in. We were in Barra, Mexico and my husband lost his wallet and half our money on the first night there. We didn't have enough money to stay our original week, so had to shorten our stay to 4 days. This was the fight that would take us home after four days. we randomly ran into a man we had met once, the previous New Years Eve, walking around the second night. He offered to lend us the money to stay our length. We accepted his offer, and the next day I switched our flight back to the original flight. I was sitting by the pool 2 days later when I heard the announcement on the radio that the plane had gone down. it was the most surreal moment of my life.
How horrible, my condolences to all who were affected by this terrible accident 😢

I was a crew member of the USCGC Point Chico. We recovered debris from that crash with two FBI agents on board. My friend and fellow crew member FS2 Chaz Tilden III committed suicide over this mission. May the Lord watch over all who lost their lives.🙏🏼
This is so fake. Do you ever notice why our videos we see on here always have a strategically placed camera in weird places like what “do you have another plane flying right next to you”.
i hate to say this but many of these comments basically speak to another far more serious problem, which is the ignorance of so many people these days. We need to do something about our education system because this is just a disaster.
The pilot sounds like he has full control of HIMSELF. Not sure I would sound that composed in that situation. Sad incident. There are still bits and pieces of the plane, and passenger possessions, occasionally washing ashore around Oxnard’s beaches, and further north beaches around Ventura.

The control that that pilot had having to report the nose dive and still keeping his composure was beyond anything that I can imagine
That pilot must have known they were about to all die yet somehow his voice remained calm. Great man 🙏🙏
That captain is as calm as possible under terrible fatal circumstances. All I can say is his family can be proud of him.

I was on the beach just outside my house on Hollywood Beach when zi watched this plane go down.immediately, people ran for their boats. when they returned, the sights of horror were told.. I continued to hear how those attempting the rescue spoke of seeing what they all thought were masks floating. these masks turned out to be the actual faces that were torn from the head upon impact.yeah, faces!!!
I have SO much anxiety and a person with lots of empathy and sympathy, and watching this all I can think about is how incredibly scared those people had to be. I’m actually in tears right now. You’re getting on the plane excited about getting home or to your destination. and then something like this happens. I just cannot imagine coming to grips in a matter of minutes or seconds that you are probably leaving this earth. And if you have time to think, obviously depending on how quickly it goes down, you’re thinking about your family and friends and what it’s going to do to them. 🥺🥺

The plane was Upside down and you would be unable to open the door due to the gravitational forces, such as Speed, Angle etc. My last breath I would be praying to God to protect my surviving family and friends.

I would try to open the hatch at the last minute and jump from the plain right befor it hits the water don't know if it would save me but I'd definitely would trying jumping from the plane at the last minits right bedornthe plain hits the water open the cabin door and jump at 50 feet and brake the water using my heels weather it would work probably not but I'd still try what ever I could
very famous actress's only child, son was on board clair ( in key largo many films )I remember when this happened and remember the screws came loose horrible. what a brave captain. can't imagine how scared everyone was who were on board
