I can honestly say this is true a .50 cal rifle bullet can still do damage even if it's only a few inches away from hitting you but a few feet isn't real now a large artillery round like what comes out of a tank if it passes by you at only a few feet it will take limbs of but a .50 doesn't carry enough weight to have enough energy to take off a limb just by going by you
