Some people have a really bad phobia of needles. I'm not that bad about it but I absolutely hate needles and will do whatever it takes not to have to deal with them
I was a phlebotomist at a VA Hospital and the worst patients were Marines they were like little babies crying and weeping
When I was in med tech who took blood daily for testing, the worst patients were men. we'd have to ask them if they were fainters and sometimes they lied and were pretending they were very brave. they weren't and went down like a stone.

I had a coworker (f) that had a phobia regarding needles. She had been a junior Olympic Shot Putter. She had to sit on her mom's lap to take all her travel immunizations. She later had two children and her husband 6' 8"" 280 lbs help hold her. I don't give anyone a hard time over this. Just looking into their eyes shows their terror!

I've administered tens of thousands of injections over my career. Trypanophobia, aka fear of needles, is very real. Nothing to be ashamed of or to be made fun of. Looks like they are 1st Infantry Division. Anyone who's served knows what it's like to go through the jet injector vaccination line. Never can tell which of your buddies is gonna hit the deck on the way out.
I got over my fear of needles when I was five years old and my sister was ten and she was hollering screaming and embarrassing me. When my turn came to take my shots I did not blink an 👁️ eye. She was so upset with me afterwards
I'm a nurse and I can tell you I've seen some muscle bound guys deathly afraid of needles. It is a real its called trypanophobia. I've seen people faint, loose their bowels, vomit etc.

I really don't like needles either I don't even want to look I hate when I have to get her shot for something also when I was at a local hospital the pharmacy lady came out and there was a couple sitting there the guy got a shot and he'd already told him that he was scared of needles so right after the lady gives him a shot the guy passes out I'm sure that made the technician feel really great but it does happen just like some people are afraid to fly everybody's afraid of something I'm sure

I learned that if you take a deep breath, relax your arm, and then afterwards massage the shot area for 5 mins, it is less painful than tensing up. It helps.

I am 6'4" 250lb man. my only phobia is hypedermic needles. tats and stitches are great but the needles have made me almost pass out a few times now.

I was afraid of needles til I tried heroin. then I had to have someone else do it. but after I was alone and needed a shot, I quickly got over my phobia and used for over a decade. I'm clean now. by grace of God.
