Everyone of my family and friends started off driving around and big empty parking lot. We would go to a parking lot where the store was out of business or whatever and you can practice everything you need to. Don't ever just throw a first time driver on the street around other cars and people. You have to start off small, driving a car is way to dangerous to trust someone who has never been behind the wheel before to drive around others. You're just asking for an accident.
Ok, but why is another kid in the backseat? Not a good idea.

Dad did well on that. One time I bought a new Tacoma and my youngest son scratched his name on the tailgate and was so proud he finally got his name spelled right that I couldn't even yell at him.

He's a good Dad tho in the sense that he didn't yell at the kid, or make him feel bad, told him it was okay. the kid was scared til dad told him, "It's okay"
