It’s definitely not what it used to be. I went to school in Daytona in 1976 at Marine institute behind the racetrack and it was fun then. Now it’s full of Junkies and prostitution. That’s why spring break people go elsewhere!!

If we only had leaders who knew how to lead. Tourism is our greatest asset. 57 million tourists come to Orlando every year. Orlando doesn’t have a ocean 🌊 we do!! if we had leaders that knew how to bring those tourists here. Daytona could be great again. But you need something for them to do.and open up the bch parking where it is meet at the most by the pier and give these people something to do on the boardwalk .a great skateboard park 🏄surf shop !how about a new pier educational pier with artificial reef to help the 🏄♂️ get a perfect point 🌊break n to help the 🐟 🐬🐠🐋🪼🐬Multiply for the fisherman. build it they will come.n spend $$$& from around the 🌎 to see the greatest pier on the east coast of America. I'm a water sign and I have lived in Florida for 4 years now raised in WV since I was 9 and I must say I'm disappointed Florida has a lot of water but not alot of water you can play in.. it's swamps gators sharksand whatever new species they discover.. like wtf. when I go the the water it is to relax and take a stress break I want to be in the water.. not tweeking like a crack hold on this is 2024 not tweeking like a meth head looking for GATORS and SHARKS.. tho the sky is beautiful the sun sets and sun rise it like God give you a peep hole into heaven if you wake up early enough to see it.
I do a lot of research but you don't know till you actually go live and experience it.. to see if you like places don't assume you going to like or not like somewhere.. I hate the cold weather but I miss the cold weather WHY a reason I never thought of. I miss snuggling up on the couch with my kid on snow days so cold you can't feel your toes the house is warm but the floor is cold.. they want you close to keep them warm.. movies hot chocolate oven baking hot food for days.. sentimental memories that don't cost a dime.. it's nice to not spend money sometimes. even when you have it. the cold wether keeps families close in way you would never think.. I know it's off topic . guess I miss the mountains a little. it's crazy cuz I thought I hated the cold.
no it is not they still have not fixed drainage for port orange last 2 hurricanes house whole house be redid 2 times we stayed in static for like 12 hrs police didn't want to take animals so we had to stay

Everything's great out on the peninsula. The problem areas are on the other side of the Halifax River. More than a few neighborhoods would benefit greatly from a little targeted gentrification. Refine these areas & the crime will reduce dramatically.
