That’s a clean hit but the rules give the refs the discretion of a defenseless receiver to protect players. Meaning the receiver has to have a chance to become a runner to protect himself. What defenders can do at this point, is wrap up or swipe at the ball. He can put that hit but he gotta wrap up at the same time. 👍🏼
