We lose 22 veterans a day to suicide. There are days I struggle not to be 1 of them. I'm glad that officer knew exactly how to handle that situation with compassion

This kills me. In the history of America, we've never taken care of our Vets. If you know your history, you can go all the way back to the Civil War to see the inhumane treatment the soldiers received, while still expected to fight a war. We don't take care of them while they're fighting, and we don't take care of them after they come home.

this breaks my heart cause of my brother he is a shell now and it breaks my heart I worry about him everyday and he was worried how much money it was gonna cost for him to get help the same thing my brother been fighting for his va benefits for years after he got out he was never the same and I cannot imagine how it is now having to go against there own people.

Had to hard press my horizontal index finger against the area just under my nose to stop😭Veterans and others going through PTSD or CPTSD need to reach out and find the groups on Social Media and elsewhere BEFORE it gets to be too much, whenever possible and friends and family NEED TO help find those resources for them ahead of this, whenever possible too. Spent the first 30 years of my life having someone threatening and trying it repeatedly over the years, before and after my other favorite man I’ve ever known, blew his own head off. By now, most of us know someone…. If you are trying to help someone and keep your own cool to help them, staying grounded yourselves too, pressing that area helps with all sorts of things from gross sights, smells… to stopping yourselves from crying. After that, touching finger tips on one hand to the finger tips on the other hand, helps a person stay grounded while dealing with the situation. Giving up isn’t the answer for anyone, not the person in crisis

people don't get it when my husband and his buddy's went they were 19 young wanted to see action his second tour he was 25 he had 40 men when he came home he started to have black outs it got really bad to where my parents came and took us to fl we were here 2 months before I got handed the flag . I look at the flag, and every time I cry, the worst part is getting it from another friend who was with him on those tours . Im now 3 more men down from ptsd they were all such good men. I miss all of them . rip Andy Sean Daniel Mike and all the others 🙏🏻 I hope you're all together laughing in heaven. I miss you guys so much.

there have been a lot of soldiers that came home like this, and it breaks my heart. I'm glad this solder called for help. They normally dont call. My younger brother went into the USMC and put in 2 tours, and we were lucky. Yes, he has PTSD with no thoughts of killing or harming himself or others. He's been out for 14 years now and wouldn't go back unless forced to do so.
