this is factually incorrect. to say so implies that the British were emancipating slaves as early as the revolutionary war which is incorrect. both America and Britain maintained slavery for quite some time. The British did prevent the slave trade before America did and they did abolish slavery before America did but this was a long time after the revolutionary war. if this was factually correct Britain would have abolished slavery around the time the revolutionary war had started which it did not. The revolutionary war ended in 1783 and Britain didn't abolish slavery until 1838. a little bit of research would straighten people right up. js
