all these parks we have in our own areas that can be used to celebrate Mlk and Juneteenth. don't fret over a national park event. using parks in your own areas could make the celebrations more available to the average people who can't go to a national park., .matter of fact don't support the national parks on any day. use your resources to up build your own areas.
“Juneteenth” is a term that was used by some former slaves, years after being freed, they wanted to celebrate the day that they were freed, but because of the excitement of being freed, no one gave a damn about the exact date that it was at that time. Now, years later when they wanted to celebrate the day, but no one remembered the exact date, but they knew that it was in June, somewhere in the teens, so they called it “Juneteenth”. It was never meant to be an official holiday, but Joe Biden capitalized on it and made it June 19th. The slaves were freed by the Emancipation Proclamation by Abraham Lincoln January 1st. 1863
