Effective November 1, 2025, new SNAP rules for noncitizens are being implemented, but there is an ongoing government shutdown causing a lapse in benefits for many recipients. Legal changes mean some noncitizens who were previously eligible now have restrictions, while the federal funding lapse will prevent the issuance of most November benefits, though some states are taking action and recipients can check with local agencies for assistance. A 120-day variance period for misapplication of some changes will end on November 1, 2025.

when I was younger, my parents had to do a job search in order to get food stamps.& If you didn't find a job, they'd have you do some type of community work. Dad had to work 20 hours a week in order to get them & he was like the hell with that give me an actual job & found one as a cashier at wearco/star gas station he worked there until the place went out of business. then he drove a semi until he died (died in the semi heart exploded)

old news....if you aren't elderly, truly disabled or a veteran, then you need to have a job or 2 jobs. don't have children if you don't have the means to take care of them. it's not the taxpayers job to pay for your kids. SNAP is supposed to be supplemental, not pay for your lazy butt year after year.

How about they just agree to ease up the health care subsidy cliff into a ramp and then open the government? All cutoffs should be ramps… knew too many factory workers quit midwinter to avoid losing their benefits. It leads to restricted working hours and income caps. Creating forced parasitism and enforced helplessness
