My daughter is a manager at a fast food restaurant and works six days a week andpicks up extra shifts when she can,has a 16 month old son.. she got hers cut because she’s working and meal preps and freezes unused portions.. but still can’t afford to make it through the month with her one bedroom apartment being $,1200 plus gas and electric plus Wi-Fi for her phone I babysit for free to help (and spend time with my grandson🥰) but she’s the type of person who really needs help

quit using these trashy thieves and scum of society, to generalize an entire group of people. there are plenty of us that buy the bare minimum to make sure our kids have healthy food. that are not refusing to work but are indeed disabled to the point of not being able to walk most days of the week. that have MS need multiple surgeries like I do. that have worked labor jobs and worked hard their entire lives until they couldn't walk anymore. that don't steal that don't have a criminal record that don't do drugs.
For years now I've been trying to get someone in my local government to listen to my idea. My idea is simple: make food stamps like WIC, so many lbs./boxes/packages of fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, cheese, eggs, milk, pasta, canned fruit and veggies, butter, peanut butter, pasta sauce, toilet paper, paper towels etc. The SNAP program is Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. It's not designed to cover your entire monthly grocery cost, but fill the gap. Before anyone goes off on me, I had to use those benefits when I lost my job during covid. I received 265$ a month. I bought all store brand food, I planned out my meals weekly and yes I bought some snacks, but they weren't Oreos, they were called cream filled chocolate cookies. I don't really drink soda so rarely bought. Once I was back to work I reported immediately and came off the program. There is a big difference between getting assistance when down and generational government aid.

Truly look at what your federal tax dollars go toward. Only 1.5% of all federal taxes go toward SNAP benefits out of $7.01 TRILLION this year. how about our federal tax $ only paying off the interest alone of our gov debt. how about complaining that our soldiers & select other bodies get maybe 10% of our federal taxes... how about our Veterans, that fought & served for our country risking life & limb, only getting 5% of our federal taxes. there is more to complain about then the 1.5% of our mutual federal taxes going to feed people in OUR COUNTRY as prices spike to an all time high.
as if our kids don't deserve cookies and cake, I'm disabled raising 4 grandchildren on my ssd I neeed yours and everyone else's help.

I work a fulltime job...make pretty decent money. I couldn't afford what was in that cart and wouldn't buy that crap anyway. The cost of everything is throught the roof. Cars,home,insurance, food,electric,gas,medical. Everything is being pushed right out of working people's reach. Then you have this. People that do absolutely nothing and benefit of others hard work and contribution to society. If you are having hard times. Have actually reasons you need the support. Then by all means you should have the help for a limited time if your just in a bad spot. I raised my own kids and dont need yours to raise as well.

I believe anyone getting food stamps should get drug tested and have to do 30 hours of community service weekly. They have stores for people getting WIC. They should also have stores for people getting food stamps where it is the only place you can use the tax payers money.

A good hot meat is good to have daily. Doesn’t anyone cook for their families anymore? I guess it’s whatever easier. Open a box or bag and munch. What pride it must feel to be so easy and know that processed imitation substances food for your body. I agree to get rid of the card and make it like WIC! Just no one complain because they’re taking too long in the checkout.

I'm a single mom I'm a waitress I get $213/month EBT for one child under the age of 18 We're both on Medicaid I pay all my rent and all my utilities I use the EBT to buy meat Use my cash for everything else So if I wanna buy oreos I will I don't Cheaper to buy the dough js My point is it's called assistance Work the best you can so you're actually being responsible and accountable for your own life
