What do you think all your constituents who work for the CDC are going to think about not getting a paycheck today knowing that you have voted 13 times to keep the government shut while you are still getting paid. They'll be standing at a food bank while your cashing your paycheck at the bank. Not good Jon. Hope you avoid a primary because those not getting a paycheck certainly won't vote for you.

I am a federal employee The Govt gives us our instructions to file for unemployment. Granted that's about 60% of our pay. To supplement the rest I had to borrow from my Federal Retirement Account. It is, what it is.

If you apply to work for the fed gov, it is like working for a company that is $ 38 tr in debt and accrues $ 2 to 3 tr more debt each year, do not expect to make it to retirement. Expect pay disruptions. It will run into one fiscal crisis after another. If I were young, quit now and start a new career. If I am eligible to retire, retire. Everyone else who is in between, prepare for a bumpy ride, and hope you make it to retirement. Advice from a retired DoD Fed. Survived 2 RIF, 2 BRACs, and 2 shutdowns. MD and VA can no longer depend on a federal gov that is financially broken to provide most of the jobs for the state.
