The Democrats don't like President Trump, Republican and especially Conservative. Since President Trump's Administration found too many taxpayers money going to groups out to foreign government issues that doesn't help American Citizens and goes into the politicians or special groups pockets.
The olive branch was sent for the extension, and the democrats gleefully refused because they couldn't add their 1.5 Trillion dollar pork add on to a clean bill. The democrats don't want bipartisan, they want it their way.
The Trump Administration turned off taxpayer funded healthcare for Asylees, DACA recipients and parolees. The Democrats want it turned back on to the tune of billions in new spending.
