For the most recent tax year (2022, filed in 2023), here's how it breaks down: The top 1% of earners (AGI ≥ $663,000) paid 40.4% of all federal individual income taxes. The top 5% (AGI ≥ $261,600) paid 61.0%, meaning the next 4% collectively paid around 20.6% (61 – 40.4).

Property taxes shouldn't exist...private ownership of property is a bedrock of this country but do you really own it if the government can put a tax lean on it in forever?

must have missed the equality part of America. just because someone made a million dollars, doesn't mean they owe it to a stranger that bashes their name consistently. your in a free country, go be as good as them and make your own dam money little kid. . .

this guy seems to have all the solutions but really does nothing to help. if he really wanted to make a change. he should go and make a ton of money and give it to the government he sure likes to tell others what they should do but he won't do it himself

You’re wrong again. Los Angeles has a mansion tax and it was projected to raise $672 million annually but only collected just over $215 million. Measure ULA imposed a 4 percent tax on sales over $5 million and a 5.5 percent tax on sales over $10 million.

Only if the money actually went to that. Do you know how much money we already put into taxes? Do you know how much has been found to be waste, fraud, and abuse? Probably not if you think you're some kind of genius for coming up with something that a million people have already thought about. There's a reason they haven't done it already, the millionaires and billionaires will move away where the tax is lax.

lol the "ULTRA RICH" worked their asses off (maybe not physically, but lost sleep thinking of ways to improve their businesses/ lives/ livelihoods of others). they deserve to earn more because the ones working for them are not incurring the risks they do. (this is coming from an employee like the rest of us who has some decent common fucking sense) #unpoliticallycorrect !

money is not the problem for homelessness.. it's a mental health/ drug problem.. look at California and New York.. they spend the most per capita on the homeless and have the most homeless.

yeah, cause the government has proven that throwing money at a problem makes it better.

the homeless crisis won't end unless we open asylums again and get these people off of drugs. No one is homeless by coincidence. it was a choice. The veterans need homes but the Democrats and Liberals are too busy sucking off illegals to help anyone else.

the liberals need to think it through if they do that and the rich leave the government will want to keep the taxes flowing and the rest of us will have to pick up that loss and pay it
