We need to be vocal about the lies. There is deep rooted reasons why they continue to lie to us. It goes deeper than just stealing our land, murdering our ancestors, and every other despicable thing they did. We need to stop allowing them to keep us separate and unite.
When I returned to continue my university education, I enrolled in a required History class. There were 250 students, one professor, and 5 assistants. On the first day of class, this tall, dapper man with a Southern drawl tells us to forget everything that we learned in high school. He was going to teach us the truth. I took the 2nd required History class from him the following semester. It was because of the truths that he imparted that made me more respectful to the descendants of the People of Color. Back to the present. This administration is blocking the truths that have made this country great, and it's shameful.

At the age of 75 and a product of Virginia schools, I was blessed to have had a PhD grandfather who left a legacy of accomplishments, as well as a library which contained numerous, works in ancient Africa that were shared by my mother. I argued during many classes throughout my academic life on the glory of ancient Africa much to the chagrin of teachers, professors, and theologians. I always, however, had my receipts to validate my claims. Teach your children the truth and be certain to cite the sources. I'm certain you know of many sources, but please include works of the following historians because you can't depend on the "establishment" to tell the truth about us: Dr. John Henrik Clarke, Professor Robin Walker, Dr. John Jackson, Dr. Yosef A. A. ben-Jochanan, and J. A. Rogers, to name a few. Please, don't forget to add The Ethiopian Bible, the oldest known Bible in the world. This Bible can now be found translated and in large print.
Rewriting history is a recipe for disaster down the road.

This Black mother wanted to know where to start with the "white washed" history being taught in the school. I say it should be the habit of every Black parent to " de-program" their children ----daily or weekly on the truth about our history. If the parent is unable then our people should be forming groups to teach neighborhood Black children true facts about our history. They will have to eventually learn how to place those ' lies " & "omissions " about our history on paper to get a good grade ---while knowing & understanding the truth ! I'm from the South & while in high school-----I had to take a course on Alabama history. The text book stated that all slaves were "indentured servants" & were very happy to be slaves------if you can believe that crap ! And although we knew the truth----we also knew we wanted to graduate so we had to answer according to the textbook. This is what today's Black children must be taught to do.

I went to elementary school from 1990-1996 and even then my mom pointed out inaccuracies and falsehoods they white wash. I still know my history because of my mom. This school year will be my first year homeschooling my children. I felt it necessary to start doing so due to all the whitewashing of our history as black people. I refuse to let them teach my children this nonsense that they're trying to push.
