They should have told the Senator it was none of his damn business. No one forces anyone to use credit cards. People make the choice to use them, and should be willing to bear the consequences of their choices. The government should not be involved in this kind of intrusion into the private sector.

I recall when credit cards were around 12 an 15% an saving accounts interest was 5 an 6% now it's less than 1%, the people are being ripped off big time.

Remember when Americans bought what they could afford? Back in the 50s and the 60s now we have an American population that wants all their material goods right now. This is a psychological operation they’re running on the American public, and the American public falls for it. When the American public starts reducing it credit consumption, these credit card companies will lose revenue.

If you've got Credit cards, if you use them, make sure you pay your debt off b4 the following bill comes in. Then you don't pay the insane fees & high interest rates they now charge.

But, if you don't hold to the contract of your purchase, you will owe more than you bought it for, which was nothing in $ upfront and the company was taking the risk on you, but was hoping you didn’t pay it off early. Schools should teach more about credit and the risks, addictions of buying and how it affects the brain. I know there are other reasons, but I'll cut this writing addiction off now. see ya

Look at how it works: They charge the consumer 20-39.99% APR/ then charge the vendor that takes their cards up to 2-4% of the sale. Most crooked business out there

Why has Congress let these companies charge this interest? Not one democrat or republican has addressed this issue properly and stopped it. The country is going to implode from the debt owed to these companies. Do something!
They charge everybody that accepts credit cards a 1.5% to 3% processing fee per swipe of a card and then for those who don't pay their credit card off each month they charge those people 11%-29% interest rate. That's another reason they want us to go plastic and not cash.
