Those 87,000 employees that were hired were specifically hired to go after the top 1% of wage earners in this country. The ones that have the most complex financial transactions during the year and need the most labor hours for audits. The plus side for doing that is those audits generate a lot more income and stop the wealthiest from cheating on their taxes. This man’s question makes it sound like he’s 87,000 IRS workers are going after the average mom and pop in suburban neighborhoods which is simply not true.I am someone that has tax preparation experience and unlike the Fox television news host I actually have knowledge how it works and it’s not going after the average mom and pop. It’s going after the multi billionaire. Course, if you’re a reporter and getting pissed off about this, you’re probably trying to help out the billionaire instead of the mom and pop in suburbia.
